Hi there and welcome to Babble.
I have been prescribed effexor for a while, but hadn't really been taking it (I have trouble remembering to take meds). But I have been taking it properly for a couple of weeks now. I have been feeling a lot better since I started taking it too :-)

Don't feel bad reading about some peoples posts. I don't know anything about brain damage...

Different people find that they respond to medication differently. Some med may not help one person - but it might be just what another person needs. The only way to find out what is right for you is to try and see. But it sounds like things are going great for you so far.
