Ativan is not as long acting as Klonopin. The half-life is about 10-20 hours, and I'm still trying to figure out what the "acute" half-life is.
I find it better than Klonopin for anxiety: with Klonopin 1.5 mg/day (TID dosing) I got very sedated/slow with a relatively small reduction in anxiety. Taking Ativan 3 mg/day (TID dosing) I'm getting a better reduction in anxiety w/out much sedation.
As far as sexual function, it's weak right now. But I can't tell if that's because of the Ativan due to counfounding variables: a higher Depakote dose and dysphoric/depressive episode. Sorry to be not much more help there...
Best,
