Doctors prefer clonazepam (Klonopin) because there`s no sudden "kick-in" and "wear-off" and I take it, but I really haven`t a clue whether it does anything, or my system has just gotten used to it. I`m still incredibly anxious, but I`m afraid to wean off for fear I`d be even worse.
CeciliaGood thinking. Last time I came off Klonopin, my mind was going 1000 miles an hour, walls were breathing, major dr. First ER gave me a shot of antihistamine and charged me $1000. Second one told me to go home and take the meds. May be time for a dose increase. Or you can swtich to valium and wean off ever so slowly like the Ashton Manual suggests. But many of these folks spend a year or more tapering then a year or a multiple thereof getting somewhere near normal again. Most seems to not have to work, have supporters or govt checks. Yet many want to do this, am not here to discourage it.
