It is quite possible that your own unique biochemical and genetic profile allows you to respond to this low dose. I think a lot of people can't tolerate the normal starting dose of meds, because they're already in toxic/overdose state, due to their unique physiology.
Of course, we can't *know* if this is true for you. You have to put your faith in something. If you put your faith in this dose of Paxil, then see it through, and you will learn if it's the right dose. You can always increase it later.
