>I have to second this. Ritalin had little effect until I got up to 50 mg, and even then I had called my pdoc in despair telling him that the med was having no effect. Soon after, two weeks into the 50 mg dosage, my symptoms suddenly started to improve. There is something of a mythology about stims either having immediate therapeutic effects or being completely ineffectual.
On the other hand, I received an immediate anxioytic effect from my first dose of clonazepam (.25 mg). Perhaps this means that it's harder for me to be stimulated than it is for me to relax.
Strattera actually 'kicked in' faster than Ritalin for me. And one of its 'diadvantages' relative to stims is supposedly its slow onset of action. Strattera had other problems, but slowness of onset was not one of them.
