Your post made me smile, pdocs telling you "voices weren't telling me to kill myself I should just ignore them."
I don't hear voices, occationally there is absence of sound. I have visual hallucinations since brain damage over 2 years ago, nothing frightening or upsetting, more starteling when something pops up quickly or colors go vivid and hypercontrasting. Docs can't imagine what it is like, and say rather silly stuff at times.
I often see objects I don't know or recognize as anything I 'know' or can know from experience. I started drawing what I see, as best I can reproduce it, images morph around on me.
Maybe you can put into prose what you hear, or your interpretation of it.
Not a freak of nature, but a better listener to what others cannot hear. Not a freak, but an interpreter of a reality gone unnoticed.
