My Pdoc is an oldie (in his 60's). He prescribed Dilantin as a mood stabiliser for me. It didn't do anything so I switched to Trileptal. One concern with Dilantin is that it will wreck your gums. In fact my dentist said that if possible, I should change my medication. Of course if it had helped me I would have taken the chance with my teeth.
