When I sit down to read in the afternoon, so many other things are going through my mind. I can't seem to sit still. I feel like running around in circles.

It could be the Cymbalta. When I tried it, I got super restless and agitated. You said your mood was ok after being on it, so it might be Cymbalta-induced activation. I go through phases where I'm just "scatterbrained", not high or irritable. Projects get started and I'm driven to get a lot of stuff done, but there's no "high energy" or really impatience behind it.. like a pure ADHD thing (racing tangential thoughts w/o euphoria or hostility). There are lots of AD's that cause my thoughts to race. It could be a "hypomania" thing, or the med just triggers restlessness, or it could simply be that you have got a lot of stuff you are worrying about (a GAD thing), and can't focus.
