Well it appears aglomelatine/valdoxan has made it through phase III and has applied for approval. . .only in Europe. ARGHHHHH. What is the deal with that? I had high hopes for this drug as it appears to have no withdrawal syndrome and is also good for insomnia in addition to anxiety and depression.
Are they not bothering to apply because they aren't one of the big U.S. drug companies (ie Lily etc) so they have no chance? I know the FDA rejected the European drug that remeron was "based on" because they wanted an american company to develope a "similar" drug.
I just wish politics was taken out of this whole process and that the big drug companies didn't have their cronies on the approval boards.
