XanaxXR vs Klonopin for GAD

My GAD symptoms include a chronic feeling of physical weakness and anxiety. I tried Klonopin before but it didn't seem to help much, while XanaxXR seems to help alot with that physical feeling of weakness (I feel it especially in my legs).
Anybody know why Xanax would work and Klonopin didn't since they are both benzodiazepines?
BTW, I took equivalent dosages of both.
