hi matt.
i only drop in very periodically, so i am not familiar with your diagnosis. please bear that in mind.
i have an agitated depression that for 10 yrs. was mis-diagnosed as various forms of bipolar illness, which seems to be the opposite of what "usually" happens. anyway, a large component of my depression is anger. i find prozac the best for anger. it is still considered the gold standard ad, after all these yrs. and lo these many "improved" ads, by many professionals. i only need a low dose of 5-10 mg/ day.
if, however, you have a borderline personality disorder diagnosis (i do not), i do think prozac, titrating slowly up to 60-80 mg/ day would be VERY helpful....for anger/ rage. perhaps if you have another cluster b personality disorder dx, it would still be worth a shot(?) i strongly suggest no klonopin or other benzo - ever.
of course, if you have bipolar, instead of or in conjunction to, you likely need a mood stabilizer on board, also. this cannot be stressed enough. trileptal was mentioned and many docs are using it with success in my area.
lastly, many above have recommended the ap zyprexa. imo, the prozac - zyprexa combo (or the combo pill) may be well worth considering.
i admire your tenacity. i do know how frustrating this med/s game can too often be.
