hey there-- sorry for the misunderstanding about 7 and 70. i get it now, just took me awhile :). so you take 7 tabs of ritalin? is it necessary to take so many or does ritalin come in higher doses? i think i would get tired of taking so many pills. but you're right-- i'm on a huge cocktail. in the last month or two, i've been lucky to cut the number in half or so, but i still take 8 or 9 a day. compared to before, though, i feel surprisingly free, especially not having to take the 3-4 times a day pills.
you have a good memory-- percocet/oxycodone was one of my meds for months. i just tapered off of it. in my experience, the stimulants and the percocet didn't interact with each other. i still got the full pain relief, but maybe without the sedation i would have without adderall. that might have just been my working up a tolerance to the sedation, too. i feel like some other meds, like lithium or antipsychotics directly antagonize dopamine release, making the stimulants weaker, but i didn't feel like either the concerta/adderall or percocet was weaker or stronger.
i've never tried ritalin IR, just the long-acting concerta. have you tried any others that you can compare the ritalin to? a couple of months ago, i reached a pretty high toleranace for adderall, and that's mostly why i mix in concerta. i also like that it's, for me, even smoother and longer-acting the adderall xr. i'm allowed to take two doses of adderall IR in the afternoon and evening, and i've wanted to try ritalin or dexedrine instead to try something new and also because i often have trouble sleeping. i don't think it's because of the stimulants, though. my pdoc prefers adderall over ritalin, though, and if it's true about the crashes when ritalin doses wear off, i guess i'd be better off on adderall. i've also been curious about focalin, which is supposed to be ritalin but twice as potent, but my dr hadn't heard of it and we couldn't find a pharmacy that carried it. do you know anything about it?
nice talking to you! hope your ritalin keeps working!
