All of the tricyclic have an average half-life of about 24 hours. Doxepin, however, can have a half-life of as short as 8 hours. It depends on whether you are a rapid metabolizer or not (cytochrome P450 2D6 enyzme). Doxepin probably makes the most sense to start off with.There are some really good charts comparing tricyclics on the Web, but I don't happen to have any links handy.
This chart seems to be accurate. You could use your browser's Find function to search for "TCA". It will speed things up in locating the tricyclic antidepressants out of the many drugs listed.
