Concerned re: med combo, pregnancy and thyroid

Posted by Gattica on March 18, 2005, at 22:20:13

I am concerned about the amount of meds I am on. In addition to 450 Wellbutrin, 60 Cymnbalta and 400 Provigil a day, I have hypothyroidism and take synthroid and cytomel. I believe that these are high doses of the Wellbutrin and Provigil. I feel like my life is ruled by medicines. But, I guess I have no option but to stay on the medicine- it has taken years to find a mixture that works.

Does anyone have any thoughts about my situation? In particular, do the Wellbutrin, provigil and cymbalta impact my thyroid. I have gained 20 pounds in the past three months.

Also, I am concerned about pregnancy. I will start a family within a year, and don't know how I would react without the medicines. Any one have any thoughts on how to survive pregnancies without the medicines?

Thank you. This is my first post, so please accept my apologies for any other posting errors.
