Xanax and Klonopin are equipotent. Though it takes a few days for the Klonopin to reach steady state plasma levels. Just switch over and keep some 0.25 mg Xanax's for breakthrough anxiety the first week and you'll be fine. Also since Klonopin has a longer half-life you can take it twice daily instead of three times daily with the Xanax. So you could take 0.75 mg in the morning and 0.75 mg in the evening if you want the most stable plasma levels. I would take 0.5 mg in the morning and 1 mg in the evening as it would help me sleep well and make me less sedated during the day. You can experiment with what you feel works best for you. If you have the routine from the Xanax of taking it 3 times daily and that works good for you then you can do it with the Klonopin. It isn't necessary as it is with Xanax though.
