Thank you for your post. I was hoping someone could give me an answer with some facts or science behind the reason. It really is amazing that lamictal has done this. The red bumps started about a month after two changes in my life happened when I was 18. I took Prozac which was the first med of any kind Id ever been on and also moved to Florida from the northeast. It seems to have dulled my response to stress, but only negative stress.
> Lamictal is sometimes used for painful migraines and neuropathy. The med relieves those conditions in many so that could explain why you no longer itch as your nerves are desensitized. Perhaps the bumps were contact dermatitis (from you itching all the time) and now that you don't feel itchy you are not aggravating the problem. Also, Lamictal can impact folate metabolism which might cause skin to become dry. Your scalp could have before been oily which is common at your age and now Lamictal has made it dry and less likely to be irritated. Those are just some possibilities but that is awesome that it cured your condition!!!
