In reply to LAMICTAL withdrawal ...extreme fatigue, posted by jjman on March 4, 2005, at 14:33:53
Hi.
I've never experienced this, but I guess it is a possibility seeing as how Lamictal can be energizing for some people. However, I think you are justified in worrying that what you are experiencing is a return of depression. A biological depression does not always manifest as saddness or depressed mood. That being said, I really couldn't guess as to which of these two scenarios is playing out. It probably makes sense to continue tapering Lamictal and try to evaluate your experience in retrospect. You can always restart the Lamictal or choose another drug should you find that you have become depressed again. To re-establish Lamictal, you will need to start at the lower dosage and titrate up gradually again to avoid the induction of the rash reaction.

> I recently stop taking lamictal 100 mg for depression. Diminish 25mg every 4 or 5 day. Since I experience Extreme muscular Fatigue.... i can barely walk without feeling completely exhausted. I don't think this is a coming back of depression because i do not have any "depressive" thoughts.... The pharma. says that withdrawal of anti convulsivant often produce agitation, anxiety etccc... but it is not my case.
