In reply to wellbutrin XL dosing, posted by olysi79 on February 28, 2005, at 15:03:41
Hi:
Wellbutrin XL 150 mg. is equivalent to the Wellbutrin sr *150 mg.,* not WB sr 300 mg.In regard to the efficacy between WB XL and WB sr is the former is extended release, lasting longer than WB sr. and said to be 'NO' insomnia problem due to 'long-lasting effect' that does not effect sleep pattern.
I've been taking a generic form of WB sr, ... 'Bupropion ER' (Extended release version of Bupropion). However, when asked a mail-order clerk, he said Bupropion ER is exactly same as Bupropion SR, but for me this, 'ER' is longer efficacy than 'SR.,' and I love this, 'Bupropion ER.'
Furthermore, Wellbutrin has a tendency to produce 'Anxiety,' due to 'stimulant' efficacy, then you need to take some 'calming med.' In my case, Trazodone is a BIG help and this combo. "WB and Traz." offerring me 'terrific' relief in terms of 'depression,' 'Anxiety,' and all other related problems broung on by Bp depression. However, in my recollection, ... Traz. is NOT for you, then you could try WB XL 150 mg., or WB sr + Anxiety/Insomnia remedy.
