I am 30. And these are my own issues. My heart going out to you and your daughter for both of you having your own seperate issues. I too am a mother(although mine are 21/2 yrs and 16 months. I don't have those concerns yet)I feel very guilty for having these weight concerns but I also know that it is just part of the illness. . I am the biggest I 've ever been in my life at this point and many might look at me andthink there isn't a problem but we all know when we go into to take the shower at night and its just us and that mirror...oh my god!!! Plus with all these psych meds and redistribution of weight and lack of energy from these meds, (I feel like a zombie), I guess, I would just like a little something to go my way, you know? Trust me I want to get better, if not for anyone else, for my husband and children, i want a happy family, not one where mommy's crying all the time or in her manic stage another time. I can be honest with myself and you and say I judge myself on my self image and I want to be thin and fit and look great because I've always took care of myself but at the same time I don't judge others that way. I don't look twice or think twice about a woman who is overweight. This is just about me. When I started depakote er, I lost 8 pounds in 1 week and was not hungry in the slightest and I felt so happy inside and comfortable in my own skin. Then my dr added cymbalta and I don't know what happened did the cymbalta do it or did the depakote just start kicking in? Who knows.All I know is I gained the 8 back and 6 more so was waiting for the topomax to work its magic in all aspects. didn't mean to ramble, just to give you an idea here I am coming from.
