> I take Zomig when I get a migraine, and I've never taken anything preventative but I have migraines about 2 to 3 times a month and they are lasting several days each so I feel like its time to try something to stop me from getting the darn things in the first place. The Zomig does work, it will knock it out in less than an hour, but usually within the next day it comes back and I have to take it again. I've had migraines for as long as I can remember but I have finally gotten tired or the pain and really want to get rid of them.
My Migraines have been lasting a lot longer than they had been, too. I have had them every since I was 9 years old. Interestingly, I seemed to be either depressed or energized after finishing the usual 24 hrs. of my headaches, as a child. It has made me wonder if there might be a link between migraines and Bi-polar disease. I do not have the vicious migs that I had as a child. They were on the edge of unbearable, but there was no other
option. I was on Verapamil, a calcium channel blocker, for quite a few years, and between that and Nardil, I hardly had any headaches. But when I had to change meds, I had to discontinue both of those good meds. I hope you obtain relief for your headaches-they sure make mincemeat of a regular life! U'D
