I am not sure I have an answer, but just a thought--
I am not sure about Remeron, but I know some of the psychotropics out there specifically say you may develop flu-like symptoms initially--though they don't always specify what type of symptoms. Some people here,including me, have reported this happening...but at least when I experienced it, it wasn't cold-like but truly flu-like symptoms--achiness, slight temp, worn down....They usually go away with a little time.
I somehow doubt that Remeron would have that strong an effect on white blood cell count in such a short period of time...
