2) I don't really have any favorite as such. They all have their unique advantages and disadvantages depending on the symptoms. I haven't tried them all either (i.e. lamotrigine). Of the ones that I've tried they all possessed some utility of sorts. Keppra was good for sleep, as was Topamax. Depakote or Trileptal has been the strongest ones for irritability and cycling. Neurontin the best for GAD. Clonazepam the best for panic. I was underwhelmed with Gabitril.
3) Remeron was compared with amitriptyline when it came out. I've taken both. I liked the amitrip. a little better (daytime sedation faded away and much less hunger). I'd say they are fairly similiar in many ways.
4) I'm BPII or atypical BP depending on which pdoc I've seen. I'm on Depakote 375mg, clonazepam .5-1.0mg, a tiny bit of Celexa every other day.
