> Hey all. I am also on Zyprexa and Depakote but neither make me tired. Since starting parnate i always get this afternoon tiredness. My doctor has increased my Parnate to 30mgs now, which is still a low dose, and I am even more tired.

> Today I woke up at about 8:30 am after having around 10 1/2 hours sleep. I felt good. Took my parnate, by 12pm I had to go lay down and have a rest. Its now 6:30pm and I am ready for another rest. I cant function like this! Ive tried 17 antidepressants and I dont know whether I should stay on Parnate and put up with this and the other side effects im getting (anxiety, nausea, dizzyness, sexual dysfunction .etc) or try a new one or maybe just stick to Depakote and Zyprexa on its own. I was fine before taking Seroquel and Depakote with no antidepressant, i am Bipolar and was in remission from mania and from depression for quite a while but that ended when I stopped taking seroquel (had to stop it because it was making my throat close up and made it hard to breathe).

> Also, im considering trying Stablon (im in Australia and the Drug is made in France, but can be legally imported by an MD to Australia). It works on seratonin but is not an SSRI. It does not have sexual dysfunction as a listed side effect and Is apparently great for anxiety and OCD (i also have anxiety and OCD). I should also mention that I have paranoia, but I believe my paranoia is linked to my OCD rather than it being psychotic as SSRI's have helped with my paranoia and OCD but nothing except the moodstabalisers+antipsychotic combo's has given me any releif from the depression I get when I cycle.

> Anyway sorry for such a long post and thank you for your time. Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Any drug reccommendations too would also be greatly appreciated, even if they are not in Australia, just as long as my Pdoc can import them.

> p.s. This is rather interesting, my doc phoned Alphapharm, who are the people who make Selegiline in Australia and they said that "EmSam will only be for people with Parkinsons disease and will have no use for depression" which is obviously not true. I guess because they have nothing to gain or they are not up-to-date with medications they dont make they spread information that is wrong.

> Thanks again and take care.Alienatari,
I've heard the afternoon tiredness thing may be related to dips in blood pressure. One way to increase your blood pressure is to increase your salt intake. I've heard that's helped with the afternoon tiredness for some. Others have used amphetamine to increase both their blood pressure and energy.
How long have you been on Parnate for? I know many say the afternoon tiredness goes away after a few months, once your body gets used to the drug. Has it been very long?
