> After talking with my doc about transdermal selegiline, he told my about the already available Xilopar, which is basically Selegiline which gets absorbed via the mucous membrane of the mouth. Also bypassing hepatic first pass metabolism. Resulting in that 1,25mg Xilopar equals 10mg oral selegiline. the blood levels of metabolites (N-Desmethylselegilin, I-Methamphetamin und I-Amphetamin) is thereby 88% to 92% lower than with oral (10mg) selegiline.

So what is the situation regarding Xilopar and food interaction? Does it bypass the digestive system? And if taking 1.25mg Xilopar is equivalent to 10mg oral selegiline, does that mean that 2mg of Xilopene would no logner be selective but would affect both MAO-A and MAO-B since it would be equivalent to between 15 and 20 mg of oral selegiline?
