Phillipa - I've been reading your posts re. benzos and your addiction to them. I know you did not intend on becoming addicted. But I am beginning to think that you need to go into the hospital to get off all these meds. You need to be monitered so that it can be done safely and also so that YOU suffer the least amount of withdrawal symptoms.
I feel so much for you. But you are right ... it is complicated and you need support both medical and psychological if you want to get off this cocktail you are on. You are cognitively impaired at this point. Why don't you give yourself the treatment you need and deserve. You are suffering too much.
Is this an option for you? Like I said, I KNOW you didn't set out to develop these addictions and it's nothing to feel any shame about.
So, what do you think?

> Thanks! I just copied it. My withdrawal is a bit confusing as I am also withdrawing from the chloral hydrate. I was the one who told the pdoc that xanax made me sleepy. I know it is short acting, but at the time I had no idea how he planned to W/D me. I don't even know if they are using valium anymore for W/D. They used to, but I've been out of the field for 8 years. I am still continuing to take a full mg of xanax when I awake during the night. But, I am like a robot, doing the same mundane things day after day without any pleasure. The AD's don't seem to do anything for me. I don't know if the ambien helps or not. It's confusing and my concentration is not good enough to do a lot of research. Where would I find something on the W/D of chloral hydrate since it's such an old drug? Fondly, Phillipa
