I am in a similar situation. I am doing very well with 60 mg Strattera and 40 mg Lexapro. But my bp has gone up since starting the Strattera about 7 months a go. Stattera and Cymbalta both increase norepinephrine which can increase pulse and blood pressure.

Even before starting Strattera, I was on 2 blood pressure meds; Altace (ACE inhibitor) and HCTZ (a diuretic). They both brought the bp down, but then Strattera took it back up. My understanding is that increasing the dose of Altace will not help. I may have to switch to a different bp pill or something else.

If I were you, I would probably try to stay on Effexor, and see if a change in bp medicine will work. I think that this would be better than trying an SSRI at this point since you know that Effexor works.
