SAD light

Posted by up'n'down on February 2, 2005, at 3:01:12

Has anyone tried a SAD light and was it effective?
I just bought a lamp that has 10,000 Lux for therapy and then can be dimmed for regular reading lamp. I like it very well and I believe it is part of why I am feeling much better than I have for a long time. I have used it every day since I got it [Dec 8] except for the days I have had Migraines and I couldn't tolerate light. Usual therapy is from 8,000 to 10,000 Lux for 30 mins each day. There are a lot of broadspectrum lights that mimic the looks of a SAD light, but it must have at least 8,000 Lux to be therapeutic [other than placebo effect.] If any of you are interested in more information, I would be glad to share a web site with you where you can fing info about these lights. I won't post it now, because I'm not sure we are supposed to do that.
