Hi,
Although I think Seroquel would be better than Zyprexa for your blepharospasm, I'm a bit concerned that you might have 'strange thoughts' if you take Seroquel. Hopefully, the strange thoughts that you had when you took Seroquel previously were not caused by the drug.
What strength of Seroquel tablets do you have?
In the UK, it comes in 25mg, 100mg, 150mg, 200mg and 300mg tablets. Which strength do you have?
If you're going to try Seroquel, you really need the 25mg tablets so that you can start on a very low dose. If you start at a high dose it will probably make you feel VERY drowsy and ill.On PubMed, there is a report of an Italian patient who found Seroquel MORE effective than clozapine in reducing the symptoms of his TD!!! The same patient also tried Zyprexa but it wasn't very effective.
I really don't think you should start Seroquel without asking your new psychiatrist. Did you talk about trying Seroquel at your last appointment? I think that he'd probably give you a prescription for the 25mg tablets if you asked.
