Hi Dinah,Actually I'm doing rather well. I had been experiencing some racing thoughts and unusual hyperactivity recently and I checked my mood charting from last year, and it looks like my Nov/Dec seasonal depression has ended-yay! Wow, it ended just three-four days different from last years', what a pattern huh? But, I had to boost my Depakote up a tad and hold it there at the higher dose and everything is settling down and my head is getting quieter (whew!). So, my current combo is Depakote 375mg + Clonazepam .5-1.0 (occasional) + Neurontin 100hs + teeny tiny bit of Celexa every other day or so .3mg + 5mg of Stratterra when my cycle hits the low spot (couple of days in a row). Also supplement wise I'm on 1.5G fishoil + Folic Acid. Bottom line: Very little use of AD whatsoever and I feel more stable than ever.
"Tried and True". Yes, I had a dissapointing experience with a retrial of Prozac after having been on it for seven years, it just didn't "feel" the same at all! Interesting that you are talking about Luvox. I was thinking about asking my pdoc for a few fluvoxamine tablets to whittle on and use instead of Celexa.. hoping I could sleep better on it instead. But strong serotonergic AD's trigger this yin/yang thing with me that must have to do with my bipolar: They settle down one aspect of anxiety, but they turn around and add an agitating aspect back in. I suppose one could argue that my "serotonin receptors aren't desensitized enough because I don't take a high enough dose for a long enough time", BUT if I attempt that strategy I start cycling like a mad dog.
Is the Luvox induced tinnnitus a continuous thing, or is it only occasional? I never got a continuous ringing on AD's, just an occasional, "WHOAH, can't hear crap!" thing. If it is only occasional it might be worth it if the Luvox is helping otherwise. Does it seem to be helping the target symptoms?
good luck with retrial-- Mitch
