Interesting. I was beginning to think I was unique in terms of an *increased* susceptibility to breakthrough social anxiety symptoms after drinking -- although my own post-imbibing reactions are milder than you describe...mainly things like a bit of voice quavering if I feel I'm being scrutinized. Your hypoglycemic-reaction theory sounds plausible.
