Coffee/Caffiene is a reported risk. I only had one hypertensive crisis after eatting celery with blue cheese dip at a wedding. Otherwise I was lucky. I work at a hospital, so I knew if I felt symptoms, could get my blood pressure checked at anytime and get a dose of procardia STAT.
