> Anyway, my doc wants to switch me to Klonopin. I'm currently on my second night of 0.5 mg. During the day today, I feel like I had to pretty much take the same amount of Xanax as I had previously been taking. I.e., I couldn't "feel" the Klonopin, possibly outside of some sedation this morning.
~~~I think alot of folks report a real difference beween the feel when comparing these two benzos. I think that is the reason some don't care for K over the X owing to it what you are used to feeling as a kick in. There are others reasons, too, for like versus don't like between the two, but the kick in feel could certainly be one of them.
I don't have alot of experience with Xanax. I did do a trial briefly, but found, for me, it did not control my symptoms as well - again, that may be owing to what **I** had gotten used to feeling.
> I feel like with Xanax, it works almost right away with noticable effects. Should I expect the anxiolysis to more gradual with Klonopin (due to the longer half-life)? At what point should I start reducing my Xanax?~~~Klonopin does appear to have a more gradual onset and due to the longer half life does not burn out as quickly. Was Xanax XL discussed as a change? While the half life of Xanax isn't really changed, the gradual delivery system can, in theory, make for a dose lasting longer. Some folks have been disappointed, however, others, pleased. It could be an option to try if the Klonopin falls short of your expectations.
> Also, when does the sedation typically wear off?~~~For me, twoish weeks.
> Finally, I think my stomach seems to get a little upset (mild pain, indigestion) after dosing Klonopin. Has anyone experienced this? Is it just a matter of getting used to the drug, or will it wear off at some point?~~~My GI tract wasn't displeased with K at any point, so I can't report that was a problem for me.
