In reply to Effexor Withdrawal -- How long does it last???, posted by raissa on January 2, 2005, at 1:06:43
Your symptoms sound absolutely horrible. How do you cope? Any given individual will have their own unique experience in terms of the relative ease or dis-ease of getting off of Effexor. In other words, no one can tell you how long the symptoms will last.
Generic or brand name Prozac, 1 tablet, which could be obtained as a sample from a GP, gynecologist (Sarafem is Prozac), or Pdoc might take care of the problems you are currently experiencing. If none of your care providers have samples, a script for 1 generic Prozac capsule would be inexpensive and may be worth every penny.
Prozac seems to be the only thing that helps when one has followed a reasonable taper schedule and still experiences withdrawal symptoms.
Feeling crappy as you do, I urge you to get creative to obtain 1 free Prozac capsule as a sample or pay for 1 capsule if a sample is not available. Benedryl and Prozac seem to be the two agents that help with this problem.
