Dapoxetine is an SSRI which was developed as an AD but didn't seem to work. Oh dear!

Dapoxetine has a rapid onset of action and a short half-life so it is suitable for 'as needed' use. It is taken an hout before sex.

It doesn't seem to be any more effective for PE than other SSRIs but it's selling point will probably be that it has a rapid-onset and short duration of action and so is more suitable for 'as needed' use than other SSRIs. Anyway, the other SSRIs aren't approved for PE, despite the fact that they are effective.
