Psychostimulant Options and Management

Posted by JJ Joey on December 29, 2004, at 20:40:45

Hello, Everyone. I was hoping to get some advice. I'm a 30 year old male with psychostimulant issues. Despite problems with intermittent addictions, I'm taking Adderall again. I have abused this drug in the past, but it's the only drug (out of the many, many I've taken), that has benefited me the most, in terms of waking me up from my moderate-to-severe somnolence, decreasing my desire for alcohol, and allaying body aches and tension. So I really want to make it work. Is it possible? My doc prescribed the XR kind, which worked great (no abuse). But my insurance doesn't cover XL or XR. So I'm on regular again, which I'm not handling as well. Are there any other psychostimulants, which have been around a while and have a more balanced impact on the CNS? Thanks for your time.
