She might have more patients on Celexa and therefore feel more comfortable with it. I was on Celexa for a long time, then switched to Lexapro when it first came out. I'm still on it and doing very well on it along with 60 mg Strattera.
I think that Celexa and Lexapro are very similar in terms of efficacy. I know that some people who took Celexa switched to Lexapro when it first came out, and then went back to Celexa.
My experience is that I think that I feel a little less tired on Lexapro.
I wouldn't worry about it. Try the Celexa, and then when you see your doctor you can ask about Lexapro.
