The pharmaceutical companies control our pdoc's minds! I just finished looking back on old Threads to see what info I might get on some medications. I went back in time to Psycho-Babble 200l. And guess what? The same questions were issues then as they are now. For example how do I get off Paxil, Effexor,etc-I'm having brain shivers,etc. The pdocs won't prescribe benzos and they worked so well before-I didn't abuse them and I have a death in the family. Sorry, take an SSRI, only it was Remeron, Paxil, Effexor then. Interestingly, people had already discovered that small amounts of Prozac could help with the symptoms. Unfortunately I was stupid enough to go on Paxil 7 years ago for severe anxiety when small amounts of Xanax alleviated my symptoms. When I went on it I was out of work for 6 months of disability because the side effects were so severe. I adjusted, went back to work, but when the pdoc learned of a new drug, he took me off it and thus began the beginning of every SSRI, and SSNI there is. I have not been able to work since then. Anyway maybe I am off base, but what do you think? I am not saying that depression and anxiety don't require meds- just that maybe we should listen to what others are saying on Psycho-Babble before being so willing to jump onto a new med when what you are on or not on is working-maybe not perfectly but you're functioning.
