My daughter works with autism, downs, and asperger students and some adults. I don't have any answers for you, but she is a senior in high school and has worked with these kids for three years in summer and afterschool programs.

She has found tons of info on the internet and is now applying to universitites in the field of medicine, in the hopes of working with these types of challenges. In fact, her college essay was on the girl she first started working with in church that had Autism, which led her to study that field and began her passion in helping special needs children. She says they are all different, with many on different medications, and they all respond differently to different meds and different therapy.

I'll have to ask her more about the asperger students and what challenges they face.
