I used to take thioridazine. As a calming drug I found it very effective, easing the nerves and stopping intrusive thoughts and ruminations. As an antipsychotic I found it less effective having minimal effect on hallucinations and delusions. The side effects were quite acceptable it wasnt too sedating and I didnt get eps or restlessness from it. I stopped it after it use was limited. The nearest drug I have taken to compare it to is chlorpromazine and it was far more tolerable than that. All in to me I think its a shame that its been sidelined I would probably take it again.
