Hi
In my 10 years long experience with various psychiatric medications, I found SSRIs are the worst in the case of sexuality. They destroy libido, ability to have orgasm, needless to say, there are no areas of sexuality these medications don't harm. So my suggestion is to try a tricyclic first (definitely with the exception of clomipramine) and reserve SSRIs as the last resort. SSRIs can be great medications for the elderly, because they are more prone to the cardiac side effects of Tricyclics. But for youths with active sexual life, docs should take care not to disrupt their basic and ultimate enjoyment. That is sexuality.
