Dextromethorphan is for coughs. It should not be taken within 2 weeks of taking an MAOI antidepressant. It can be taken with an SSRI if the doses of the 2 drugs are not too high. Otherwise it can potentially cause serotonin syndrome.

A lot of cold medicines use an antihistamine for runny nose and pseudoephedrine HCL for nasal stuffiness. I'm not aware of any problem taking those 2 drugs with an SSRI or Wellbutrin. I have done so many times.
