Sepracor is a drug manufacturer that is awaiting the final go-ahead from the FDA for the drug Estorra, to be used in the treatment of insomnia. Estorra has been tested on more than 2700 adult and elderly subjects and also in more than 60 preclinical studies.
Estorra claims to result in reduced side effects as compared to other sleep aids on the market. It is to be used for adult and elderly patients in the treatment of chronic and transient insomnia.
According to Sepracor, besides reduced side effects, Estorra also has the potential for improved sleep maintenance.
Estorra is a GABA modulator.
