I think it's fair to say that a mental health site is pretty likely to contain the occasional post of despair, or suicidal ideation. It doesn't take very long hanging around here to find that out, if you didn't expect it in the first place.

I think it's important that a person becomes aware of how to limit their own experience of being triggered. If they're feeling vulnerable, it may be a good time to take a break from the site, or hang around a board with less likelihood of such posts, such as Social.

It might also be a good idea if people put descriptive elements in their subject lines, as a warning of the content within. Some use the "trigger" warning, generally, while others just give a hint of what is within.

There are two sides to this communication issue, but there is no right side. Any one of us can be on either side, at different times. Some of us may need to reach out, while at the same time, others of us may need to close up and pull away. Both are appropriate here.
