Hi Noa.Prozac and the tricyclics have been studied the most closely. After many years of observation, they are generally accepted as having no teratogenic effects. The other SSRIs seem to be OK as far as teratogenicity is concerned, but little work has been performed to verify this.
Paxil and Effexor are known to carry the greatest risk of perinatal complications as the newborn experiences a withdrawal syndrome. If it were necessary to use either of these drugs, it might be desirable to begin weaning off of them slowly during the last trimester and hope that the pregnancy is acting as a natural antidepressant, which it sometimes does.
I guess I would choose Prozac first.
The anticonvulsant mood-stabilizers are considered teratogenic. I don't know what the statistical risks are.
