I mean both short and long-term memory. It's all just a blur to me. I think some medications do worsen my memory, but even-drug free I can't remember a damn thing.

I read an interesting theory on depression once that seems sort of related. The theory (as I remember it!) is that depressed people have disrupted sleep and you process memories in your sleep and thus depressed people have screwed up memories and screwed up memories can contribute to depression (the theory made a lot of sense to me at the time, so I think I must be mistating it).
