I've addressed this theme a few times on these boards, as I've found Ativan (lorazepam) more useful than Xanax in my case.
But, Ativan/lorazepam seems to be not as well understood in how to take it, so doctors aren't likely to prescribe it correctly, nor are patients likely to figure out how to take it correctly.
It is less powerful, in some ways than the other two, and more gentle, than the other two, and I may be fortunate enough to not need anything more powerful.
My first question for you would be if you were trying the real, name brand (Wyeth), Ativan or a generic. It seems that the generics are close to worthless.
