MIRAPEX: therapeutic dose for depression?

Posted by jerrympls on November 1, 2004, at 1:51:38

I'm taking Mirapex 0.25mg at night for RLS and have been for two months. However, before my recent refill (about a week ago) there was a mix-up and I was off of it for about 5 days. I certainly noticed how much that it had REALLy been helping with restless legs during that time. But I also noticed my mood flattened.

So, about 3-4 days after re-starting the Mirapex I noticed my mood improved *slightly* and I had a little more motivation.

I know Mirapex has/is beeing used off label to help those with apathy, etc (anhedonia) and was wondering what the dosage was/is that is supposed to be most beneficial for anhedonia. I know for Parkinson's the dosage is 4mg.

Does anyone know? Has anyone been on it? I think I need to be at a higher dosage.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Jerry
