I got pregnant and went through the same emotions. I ended up not going through with it because my husband didn't want it without being thoroughly prepared, and it was very hard, very hard to go though an abortion, though now I think it was the right thing to do.

When I talked about it with my doc, she said I had to come off of everything, Trileptal, Lamictal and Effexor. The anti-convulsants are known to cause congential malformations and a host of other issues. Coming off of the drugs in preparation for pregnancy has to be done carefully and under the supervision of your Pdoc. Be sure to carefully research the available material, but in most of these drugs, they don't know what the exact effect they'll have on the fetus and I for one, choose not to be the rat they experiment on.
