Tom, I'm a sista, not a brotha, by the way. And I take it for bipolar, don't want to switch, just want to get over the drowsiness. It sucks.

I would be more accepting of it if it had started from the beginning, but everything was going smoothly until one night the sleepiness carried over into the next day and it has been with me ever since. Geodon is a great drug though isn't it except for the sleepiness. I only take 20mgs a day so I can't lower the dose. I recently tried Provigil to negate the sedation but felt like crap on it with increased anxiety and spaciness. With me the sleepiness is fake feeling. I still have mental energy but have a veil of sleepiness that hangs over me all day. Its a fake kind of sleepiness because I don't really feel like I need to go sleep, and I in fact don't take naps but still feel sleepy. Depending on your diagnosis you should try Provigil to see if it helps but for me it was a disaster and was starting to take me in the *wrong* direction at 200mg a day. My brain seems to be very sensitive to any new drug now that I'm taking Geodon. I tried to drink coffee to wake me up and I get panicky on it whereas before Geodon I never did. Also lower your dose if you can. What are you taking it for? Let us know.
