lowered dopamine levels and anhedonia

Posted by lostforwards on October 25, 2004, at 15:52:06

Is it possible to give someone depression after acutely lowering their dopamine levels?

I was at a point where I would lisp. I even had problems with my body feeling like it wanted to go one way unless I leaned the other way. And then it would feel like going that way. After being an antipsychotic and phenothiazine to sleep for a while, eventually developing severe eps most of which has gone.

I didn't feel bad on the drugs though. But as I was coming off, and switching the antipsychotic to be taken at night I started getting these weird effects. I felt great but I'd have these strange things going on like only one of my arms would swing.

I'd have some weird things happen like I'd repeat mannerism that I had learned. (NOT TD) Motoric emory or something. if I moved my fingers my other hand would move as if it were strumming. I play the guitar.

Eventually after coming off the antipsychotic I fell to a low level of anhedonia. Any guesses as to what happened.
